Plenty of great amenities are found nearby with all kinds of excellent schools. Some of the best private schools in the area are found in Metairie. In addition, it's home to a popular public library system, a number of restaurants and excellent shopping options.

 

Lakeside Shopping Center is found here which was developed in the 1950s. It has since changed over time and today, it's anchored by JCPenney, Dillard’s and Macy's. You'll also found Lee Michaels Jewelers, the Apple Store and Adler’s within this shopping center. The historic Cafe du Monde has a branch here and you'll also find an Eddie Bauer, Gap and Banana Republic.

 

In addition, the neighborhood is home to Lafreniere Park with plenty of walking paths. This park also has entertainment event pavilions and other outdoor recreation options. Veterans Memorial Park is also found here, which is home to the Metairie Carnival Celebration and Mardi Gras every single year.

 

Many locally owned supermarkets and boutiques are also found throughout the area. Residents also enjoy easy access to a number of excellent restaurants.

A wonderfully popular neighborhood found outside the downtown area of New Orleans, Metairie offers plenty to be excited about. It's full of surprises around each corner and offers a great break from the very busy downtown area. If you work downtown, but prefer to live outside of the downtown area, Metairie should be high on your list.

 

Living in Metairie provides plenty of beautiful architecture, plenty of things to do and all kinds of modern amenities. It's known for the schools, churches and the many options for shopping and dining. In addition, there's a home to fit just about any budget.
